I am so tired of the constant barrage of productization of “creativity.” It’s written about as if as if it were “feminine hygiene” or some other invented nonsense used to shill new items as a means to achieve mysterious essences and dispel vague anxieties.

The concept, as it is usually framed in blogs and new books about it, reflects little more than a culture of self-indulgent children, asking for mommy and daddy to praise them for their latest successful excrement. There’s nothing wrong with product development, or with clever product features, but why the romanticism, why the need for apotheosis as “creation” ? Only an expired culture, with deep anxieties about its inner deadness, would need to put on such a show over the source of its products, with the deep inner dead thing (the marketplace) as both locus and audience for its performance.
